UK Gas Services (UK GS) is seeking experienced Plumbing & Heating Engineers to work on new build housing developments, including low-carbon and renewable energy installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing, heating, and renewable system installations in line with current Building Regulations, Part L requirements, and developer specifications.

This role supports the transition to energy-efficient homes including air source heat pumps (ASHP), underfloor heating systems, and other sustainable technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • First and second fix plumbing installations
  • Installation of traditional gas heating systems (where applicable)
  • Installation and commissioning of renewable heating systems, including:
    • Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
    • Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) (where applicable)
    • Hybrid systems
  • Installation of underfloor heating systems
  • Installation of unvented hot water cylinders
  • Pressure testing, system flushing and balancing
  • Working from M&E drawings and specifications
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations (Part L, G3 etc.)
  • Working to NHBC standards and developer quality requirements
  • Liaising with site managers and other trades
  • Completing commissioning documentation and handover packs
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Experience on new build housing developments
  • Unvented Hot Water (G3) Certification
  • Experience installing heat pumps and low-temperature heating systems
  • Strong understanding of energy-efficient system design
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Gas Safe Registered
  • Manufacturer training on ASHP/GSHP systems
  • Experience working on SAP-compliant low-carbon homes
  • Understanding of Part L and Future Homes Standard

UK GS operatives working on new build developments will:

  • Support developers in meeting Part L and SAP requirements
  • Deliver energy-efficient installations aligned with Future Homes Standards
  • Participate in manufacturer-led renewable training
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of low-carbon technologies
  • Ensure quality-first installations to reduce defects and improve EPC ratings
