From Apprentice to Professional

"When I started at UK Gas, I was initially enrolled in a Level 3 Business Administration Course for the first 18 months of my time here. Throughout this time, I received support in having a day a week during working hours to complete my coursework and attend sessions with the college. During this course, I was able to get exposure to multiple departments throughout UK Gas and develop a good knowledge of business administration.

Following the completion of my first course, I was then offered the opportunity to further my education and attend university. Due to the exposure to multiple parts of the business, I had grown an interest in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management. UK Gas have sponsored me to complete a 5-year course at university, where I attend the university one day a week. For the rest of the week, UK Gas support me to get real world experience of things I cover on my course, learning how to apply them at work."
